I leased a 2013 Malibu 3 weeks ago. After 2 weeks of driving it the back up camera stopped working. The dealership ordered and new camera and replaced it, but that didn't solve the problem. After test driving we were able to find a great vehicle in the price range that I could afford. The service could not have been any better. I replace my truck every three years and wife's car, we lease every two years. We need a guy like John in every dealership and GM would be way out on top! I was sent to see salesman Harry Smith at Lou LaRiche by a friend who has worked with him for years, particularly with leases. Being that I'm female and it was my first time really shopping for a car without the help of my mother, I was a little nervous to do my shopping around, feeling like I'd get duped by someone speaking shop talk. When I walked in, I liked that the dealership was quieter than most. Harry greeted me and I told him I was looking to trade in my old car for a possible lease on a Chevy Cruze. He immediately began showing me the car and what it had to offer and made sure to ask what qualities were important to me in a car. Long story short, we ran the numbers and they weren't initially willing to give me everything it would have taken to pay off my existing car loan. The monthly payment was also a tad higher than I was comfortable with. Harry then suggested he could likely get them to make up the difference and pay off my existing loan. Although that sounded better, I didn't have the title to my car with me, so initially I had told him I'd take the information he gave me home, think it over, and return the following week. He then asked me what it was that he could do that would make me agree to make the purchase that day. He stated I should let him know what I needed and he would go to his manager with it. I basically told him I either needed to leave like I had initially suggested and return at a later time, or, if they could reduce the payments to x amount then I would do it that day. Harry didn't seem concerned that I didn't have the title to my car and just said I needed to bring it back as soon as I had it. Harry then went to his manager and she came back and approved everything. I was then whisked away into the life of a lessee.
